Principles of Interpretation: There are patterns to Revelation which should be considered when trying to understand it. One pattern is that each new section is introduced by a scene from the temple. There is significance to these introductions. Do not ignore them. They are a key to understanding the section. Another pattern is that the book is written in symbolic language. The King James Version translates verse 1 as “he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” To signify is to show in signs, i.e., symbols. Those symbols are based in the rest of the Bible, both Old and New Testament. As such, look to the rest of the Bible to interpret Revelation rather than using Revelation to interpret the rest of the Bible. This also means that you need to let the Bible interpret itself rather than attempting to have it fit into today’s headlines. In short, do not treat Revelation as separate from the rest of the Bible. Instead, expect that the events described in Revelation have been presented in other parts of the Bible. A third pattern in Revelation is the idea of judgement. There are courtroom scenes and wrath and complaints about God not bringing justice. In fact, humans are not the only ones under judgment. God Himself is on trial, and the repeated verdict is that God is just, holy, and worthy. From the beginning claim that this is the Revelation of Jesus to the promise in the last chapter that we shall see God’s face, Revelation is an examination of who our Creator is and whether He is worthy of our loyalty.

Disclaimer: There are four basic methodologies used to interpret the book of Revelation in modern society: futurism, historicism, idealism, and preterism. Many modern churches have embraced the idea of the secret rapture, which is a form of futurism. On the other hand, some churches say that Revelation deals solely with events that were happening in the apostolic era. This is called preterism. Other churches teach that Revelation does not describe any specific time period. Instead, the symbols are philosophical and/or spiritual ideas. The series of studies that I am posting is based on historicism, which says that the Bible teaches that Revelation begins with the time of John and describes the interactions of the church with a hostile world throughout history culminating in the final future eradication of sin from the universe. This view denies a secret rapture. I do not want you to be in confusion about the basic premises of this series of lessons. If you disagree with the historicist viewpoint, please study for yourself to be certain that the interpretations that you have been told by others and simply accepted make sense with the whole Bible. As you study, first ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit; then study the verses, and let the Bible interpret itself. Even if you disagree with my comments, you may find the verses and background information that I provide useful. Finally, I want to emphasize that I myself am still studying Revelation and my understanding is deepening each time I open the book and read. Revelation is a distillation of the whole Bible; as such, the limited space of this blog and my limited understanding means that these lessons are not nearly as in-depth as they could (and maybe should) be.

Revelation 22:1-2

(1)  Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (2)  through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

• The River: Eden is restored.  Genesis 2:10  (10)  And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
• Ezekiel 47has some interesting information about the river of the water of life and the trees with leaves for the healing of the nation.  In the last part of Ezekiel, there is a description of a temple that was never built and instructions for the city of Jerusalem that were never carried out. It speaks of a renewal of the land that parallels the idea of the healing of the nations. I am not going to examine all of the temple description here because I am not sure of all the ramifications yet, but I will include the part that deals with the river, and I suggest that a comparison of Ezekiel’s temple and the city of New Jerusalem would be profitable.  John is definitely pointing the reader to Ezekiel with his descriptions.  Ezekiel 47:1-12  (1)  Then he brought me back to the door of the temple, and behold, water was issuing from below the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was flowing down from below the south end of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar.  (2)  Then he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate that faces toward the east; and behold, the water was trickling out on the south side.  (3)  Going on eastward with a measuring line in his hand, the man measured a thousand cubits, and then led me through the water, and it was ankle-deep.  (4)  Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was knee-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was waist-deep.  (5)  Again he measured a thousand, and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen. It was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be passed through.  (6)  And he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he led me back to the bank of the river.  (7)  As I went back, I saw on the bank of the river very many trees on the one side and on the other.  (8)  And he said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, and enters the sea; when the water flows into the sea, the water will become fresh.  (9)  And wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish. For this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes.  (10)  Fishermen will stand beside the sea. From Engedi to Eneglaim it will be a place for the spreading of nets. Its fish will be of very many kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea.  (11)  But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they are to be left for salt.  (12)  And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”
• The water of life flows from the throne
  • According to Ezekiel 47:9, this water purifies the water that it flows into, i.e. changes salt water to fresh water.  Symbolically, the water of life purifies us also.
  • There never was a river running through earthly Jerusalem.  Hezekiah had to make a tunnel to pipe water into the city from a spring outside of it.  The people who wrote Psalm 46 knew this, yet they sang of a river making the city of God glad.  They had to have been speaking of a heavenly city of God.  Psalms 46:1-11  (1)  To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  (2)  Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,  (3)  though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah  (4)  There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.  (5)  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.  (6)  The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.  (7)  The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah  (8)  Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth.  (9)  He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire.  (10)  “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”  (11)  The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
  • This river of life was a common theme in prophecies of Jerusalem.  These prophecies do not exactly correlate to Revelation, but they add to our understanding that the stream is important and was a constant in prophecy.
    • Joel 3:18  (18)  “And in that day the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the streambeds of Judah shall flow with water; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Shittim.
    • Zechariah 14:8-9  (8)  On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter.  (9)  And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day the LORD will be one and his name one.
• God and the Lamb’s throne—This struck me as important because at the time I created this study, I had been dealing with people affected by Jehovah’s Witnesses.  The people had been told by the JW’s that Jehovah is the Father and Jesus is created.  They said that Jehovah gave Jesus power, but that Jesus would return the power back to Jehovah. They get this idea from 1 Corinthians 15:27-28, but the context of these verses is the idea that Adam changed allegiance from the Father and gave dominion to Satan.  Jesus, who replaced Adam as our human representative, will give the world’s allegiance back to the Father.  Jesus is both God and human.  As a human, He subjects Himself to the Father.  This does not mean that He is not divine or that He does not rule with the Father.  Here in the last chapter of Revelation where Eden is restored, the Father and Son sit together on the throne.  Jesus promises the Laodicean church (the last church in the messages given to the churches, i.e. the final generation of believers before Jesus returns) that they could share the throne with Him and His Father:  Revelation 3:21  (21)  The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
• The Tree:  Again, Eden is restored–Genesis 2:9  (9)  And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
• Twelve kinds of fruit
  • Ezekiel 47:12  (12)  And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”
  • The verses in Ezekiel indicate that the tree of life is full of life because of the water from the throne, not because it has some special magic in itself.
• Leaves—heal nations:  This is a promise that the Curse of Babel will be reversed.  We will be neighbors and friends
  • Micah 4:3-4  (3)  He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide disputes for strong nations far away; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore; (4)  but they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.
  • Zechariah 3:10  (10)  In that day, declares the LORD of hosts, every one of you will invite his neighbor to come under his vine and under his fig tree.”

Revelation 22:3-5

(3)  No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.  (4)  They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.  (5)  And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

• See his face—Here is another part of Eden restored.  Adam and Eve spoke with God face to face before sin.
  • Exodus 33:18-20  (18)  Moses said, “Please show me your glory.”  (19)  And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The LORD.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.  (20)  But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.”
  • 1 John 3:2  (2)  Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
• His name will be on their foreheads.  This signifies that they have consciously chosen God as their Master.  The mark of the beast can be in the forehead or on the hand signifying that some people serve the beast out of true belief and some out of expediency; however, God only wants people who serve him out of faith.
  • Revelation 14:1  (1)  Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
  • Revelation 15:2  (2)  And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.
• No more night/God will be their light—We are living in a world full of spiritual darkness.  However, our God is a consuming fire, and we will see Him face-to-face.  There will be no room for darkness when God reveals Himself as He is without a shielding curtain between Him and His people. Isaiah 33:14-17  (14)  The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless: “Who among us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?”  (15)  He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, (16)  he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.  (17)  Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.
• Reign forever and ever
  • Daniel 7:27  (27)  And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’
  • 2 Timothy 2:11-13  (11)  The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; (12)  if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; (13)  if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.

Revelation 22:6-7

(6)  And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”  (7)  “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

• This is Jesus speaking because He says that He is coming
• The God of the spirits of the prophets—We have seen again and again that Revelation is a summary of the whole Bible.  The same God who inspired the prophets in the Old and New Testament is the same God who sent the messages in Revelation. 
• Must soon take place—This phrase points out that the messages in Revelation are meant to foretell the future of the church.  Some people have asserted that Revelation is an allegory and not prophecy, but the book itself claims that it is prophetic.
• Coming soon—It has always struck me as wrong that Jesus told John that He was coming soon when it would be more than 2,000 years before He returned.  However, I have had the experience time and again in the past that when something in the Bible struck me as wrong, God later showed me how to look at the idea from a different angle.  Then suddenly, everything made sense.  I have faith that someday, I will see this detail also from the correct perspective.
• Blessed—Being able to stand with God during the times of trouble outlined in Revelation is a blessing.  Receiving God’s name and avoiding the mark of the beast is a blessing.  Living in the New Jerusalem after triumphing over the curse of sin is a blessing.  Many people view the book of Revelation as scary, but the truth is that the book was written to be a blessing to humans if we will just listen to its message and follow God.

Revelation 22:8-9

(8)  I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, (9)  but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

• John is not worshipping the One who spoke.  He is worshipping the one who showed him things.
• Angels are not to be worshipped.  They are fellow servants of God.  This is the difference between loyal angels and fallen angels. 
  • Satan wanted to be worshipped, but loyal angels want only God to be worshipped.  Isaiah 14:13-14  (13)  You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; (14)  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’
  • Paul warned against the worship of angels.  Colossians 2:18  (18)  Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind,
• Prophets and those who keep the words of this book are equated.  They are all servants of God.
• The theme of Revelation is incapsulated in this little drama:  Do not worship angels.  Do not worship Satan.  Do not worship the beast.  Do not worship the image of the beast.  The message of the whole book of Revelation is about who we worship.  Worship God alone!

Revelation 22:10-11

(10)  And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.  (11)  Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

• The context shows that this is Jesus speaking again.
• Unlike Daniel, this book is not to be sealed.  Daniel 12:9 (9)  He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. The context implies that the reason that Daniel was sealed was because the time was not near.  Revelation is not sealed because the time is near.
• Evil stay evil and righteous stay righteous—This is the final result of the book.  In the beginning of the book there are calls to repent. Sins are pointed out so that the church will turn away from error and worship God with a faithful heart.  For example, the message to Laodicea is that they can change.  Their evil ways are pointed out, but a solution is also provided.  Revelation 3:19  (19)  Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.  However, the time will come when everyone has made a choice for or against God.   Daniel 12:10  (10)  Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.

Revelation 22:12-13

(12)  “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.  (13)  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

• Jesus brings His reward with Him when He comes
  • Colossians 3:23-25  (23)  Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, (24)  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.  (25)  For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
  • Romans 2:6-11  (6)  He will render to each one according to his works:  (7)  to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; (8)  but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.  9)  There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, (10)  but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.  (11)  For God shows no partiality.
• Jesus is the Alpha/Omega, first/last, beginning/end, yet in Revelation 1, these are titles given to the Father.
  • Revelation 1:4-8  (4)  John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, (5)  and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (6)  and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (7)  Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.  (8)  “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
  • This confirms that there is no separation between the Father and the Son.  They are the Alpha and Omega, the self-existent one, the supreme power in the universe.

Revelation 22:14-15

(14)  Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.  (15)  Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

• Inside the city
  • Wash their robes—How do we wash our robes?  Our robes become white through the blood of Jesus.  Revelation 7:14  (14)  I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
  • Tree of life—What is this really promising?  The tree of life is the means by which humans can live forever.  Genesis 3:22  (22)  Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”
  • Enter the city by the gates:  We are outside the gates of the city now, but the day will come when we enter in, but only by following Jesus into the city.
    • Hebrews 13:12-14  (12)  So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.  (13)  Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. (14)  For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
    • John 10:7-10  (7)  So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.  (8)  All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.  9)  I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.  10)  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
• Outside the city
  • Dogs—The Jews thought of the Gentiles as dogs who were not worthy of being together with the people of God (Matthew 15:26  (26)  And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”) but the true dogs are all those who reject God.
  • Sorcerers—They try to obtain power by negotiating with supernatural beings other than God.  They want to bypass obedience to God in order to rule.  Galatians 5:19-21  (19)  Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, (20)  idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, (21)  envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
  • Sexually immoral—They have no loyalty.  They choose pleasure over commitment. See the verse above (Galations 5:21).  Matthew 5:28  (28)  But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
  • Murderers—Even hating someone is murder, so those who hate are also outside the city.  1 John 3:15  (15)  Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
  • Idolaters—they reject God and worship demons.  Deuteronomy 32:17 (17)  They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded.  (see also 1 Corinthians 10:20)
  • Loves and practices falsehood—They would rather believe a lie than repent and be saved.  Adam and Eve believed Satan’s lies and rejected God.  Satan is the father of those who practice falsehood.   John 8:44  (44)  You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.  God hates lying.  Proverbs 12:22  (22)  Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight.

Revelation 22:16-17

(16)  “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”  (17)  The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

• Jesus sent the angel—Revelation is a message from Jesus to His people
• The book of Revelation was written for the churches—Revelation was not written to predict which nations would be in power at various times in the future and which would not.  It was not written about politics.  It was written with the perspective of what the church would need to know.
• Jesus calls Himself the root or descendant of David and the bright morning star—Jesus was both the Creator of humanity that would lead to David and the human descendant of humanity through David.  He is both divine and human.  Jesus is the star that outshines all others. 
• Invitation to come
  • The Spirit and the Bride—The invitation to come to the holy city is given to the world through the Spirit acting through God’s people.
  • The one who hears—When we hear the invitation, we are to continue to invite others to come.
• The one who comes is not thirsty for water.  This is a thirst for life with God. Matthew 5:6  (6)  “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

• Drink the water of life without price.  Jesus is the water of life who will fill us freely with that life.  That life comes through the Spirit dwelling in us.  John 7:37-39  (37)  On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  (38)  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”  (39)  Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Revelation 22:18-21

(18)  I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, (19)  and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.  (20)  He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!  (21)  The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

• This warning is comparable to a covenant curse.  This is not an abracadabra curse against writing an extra word into Revelation or taking one out.  This is a warning of the results of not taking the messages of Revelation seriously.
• This is not the only time when people were warned not to add or take away from the word of God.  When the children of Israel were about to enter into the Promised Land, Moses warned them about adding to or taking away from the laws given by God to them through Moses.  They would need obedience to make it through successfully.  Unfortunately, they were not obedient to this command.  Deuteronomy 4:1-2  (1)  “And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the rules that I am teaching you, and do them, that you may live, and go in and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.  (2)  You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you.
• This is a covenant curse.  Adding and taking away from God’s message results in receiving plagues and having no share in tree of life and the holy city.  We have been given a similar warning throughout the Bible.  If we want to make it through to the Promised Land, we must obey and worship God alone.  If we deviate, we will end up lost.  This is simple reality.  Our only safety is in being the people who follow the Lamb wherever He goes rather than going our own way.  Adding to or taking away from prophecy can lead us away from Jesus. We must be careful with unfulfilled prophecy not to speculate beyond what has been revealed in the Bible because that can lead us off the path of safety.

Come, Lord Jesus!

• God Cares: The Message of Revelation for You and Your Family-A book by C. Mervyn Maxwell that examines how the prophecies of Revelation relate to an individual’s life.
• Plain Revelation–A book by Ranko Stefanovic that summarizes the meaning of various sections of Revelation
• Revelation of Jesus Christ–A book by Ranko Stefonovic that comments on each verse of Revelation.
• Salvation in Signs and Symbols–a series of shows where two pastors and two others study through the books of Revelation and Daniel. These programs can be accessed at 3abnplus.tv . Scroll down to 3ABN Dare to Dream Network and choose Salvation in Signs and Symbols from the list there.
• Seventh-Day Adventist Bible Commentary (Volume 7) (Copywrite 1957)–This is the old green set of commentaries, not the new commentary series that is in the process of being published and should be released after 2022. (Boy, I would love to get my hands on that set when it comes out!)
• A Song For the Sanctuary: Experiencing God’s Presence in Shadow and Reality by Richard M. Davidson.  The focus of this book is the sanctuary.  Since Revelation is full of sanctuary imagery, Dr. Davidson also examines how the sanctuary imagery and other symbols are used in prophecy.
• Table Talk–A series of shows where four pastors discuss various topics. These programs can be accessed at tabletalk.online . Season 4 focuses on Revelation.
